Hokio Beach

A wild, expansive strand of sand, Hōkio Beach is a village and rural community in the Horowhenua District and Manawatu-Wanganui Region of New Zealand's North Island.

It is located south of Waitarere Beach, west of Levin, and north of Waikawa Beach.

Hokio Stream, which drains Lake Horowhenua, is used by locals for whitebait. Others surf-cast for fish.

If you feel the need for some exercise, the beach lends itself to walking or running, and the dunes offer opportunities for exploring and children's games.
